10 pros and cons of working from home

We’ve been working from home for the past couple of months now, which has been more than enough time to reflect on what we miss about life at 545 South Dowling, and what we don’t.

If you’re in the same situation as us, here’s 10 pros and cons of working from home that probably hit close to home.

#1: Money

PRO
Saving a small fortune on cafe-bought coffees.

CON
Constant craving for that sweet, expensive elixir every second of every day.

#2: Personal life

PRO
Pet and baby cameo appearances on Google Hangouts.

CON
Just-woke-up-face on Google Hangouts.

#3: Office attire

PRO
Comfy clothes can be worn everyday of the week.

CON
None whatsoever.

#4: Colleagues

PRO
No awkward encounters in our coed bathroom.

CON
No kitchen catch ups about the awkward encounter we just had in the bathroom.

#5: Commute

PRO
Waking up late and avoiding traffic and public transport.

CON
Skipping what, for some, is the only form of exercise and exposure to the sun we get.

#6: Workplace politics

PRO
Absence of in-office distractions boosts productivity.

CON
Office banter just isn’t the same over Slack.

#7: Meetings

PRO
Video conferences from the comfort of the living room.

CON
That one person who is always on mute.

#8: Work life balance

PRO
More time spent obsessing over passion projects.

CON
More time spent obsessing over roommate’s unwashed dishes that they always leave on the counter and say they’ll get to but never do.

#9: Online shopping

PRO
Always at home to receive deliveries.

CON
Ordering heaps of useless stuff we don’t need to fill the void of human interaction.

#10: Out of office

PRO
Newfound appreciation for nature and the outside.

CON
Nature and outside too far from the couch.
