Celebrating a Decade with Audrey at Circul8

It’s not every day you get to celebrate someone reaching a 10-year milestone, so today we’re absolutely thrilled to spotlight Audrey, our incredible Account Director, as she marks an amazing decade at Circul8.
From starting out as an account manager to becoming our dream Head of Operations & Delivery, Audrey’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Audrey has been instrumental in shaping some of our most memorable projects, award-winning campaigns, and unforgettable adventures. If you know her, you know she’s an absolute force — and we’re so lucky to have her. 💫

To celebrate, champagne in hand, we’ve asked her to reflect on her journey and share some insights from her 10 extraordinary years with us.

So, here’s what we wanted to know:
1. What’s one moment from your early days at Circul8 that you’ll never forget?

When I first started, we were working on a pitch for New Caledonia. The team asked if I could come in a few days before my official start date to help out — because I’m French and have a good understanding of the language, they felt it would give them a deeper insight. That’s when I knew I’d made the right decision to join Circul8. It showed me that collaboration really is at the heart of everything here, and that creativity can come from anyone across the team. We don’t work in silos — we work together, bouncing ideas off each other and solving challenges as one. I’ll never forget that first brainstorm session: the entire agency in a room for three hours, all throwing around ideas and building off one another’s energy.

2. Out of the 50+ clients you’ve worked with, which project challenged you the most – and which one made you smile the most?

One of the most challenging projects was early in my time at Circul8 — a campaign for Sheraton Hotels to raise awareness of their properties in Fiji. We were working with some new technologies at the time and had to figure things out as we went. It pushed us out of our comfort zone, but the campaign turned out to be a real success.

The one that never fails to make me smile is the Plant Life Balance app. I worked closely with both the creative and tech teams on that project, and the process of solving problems together day after day was incredibly rewarding. Plus, winning two Webby Awards for it definitely adds to the grin!
And before you ask — no, I don’t have a favourite! I’ve genuinely enjoyed all the projects I’ve worked on, and no matter what the brief, I always give it 100%.

3. Three Circul8 retreats, three incredible locations — which retreat moment or memory sticks in your mind most?

During our Whitsundays retreat, we were staying on boats in the middle of the ocean — and I’ll never forget those sunrise paddleboarding sessions with Alana and Annie (our GM at the time). We’d be out on the water, chatting about the future of Circul8 as the sun came up. I loved every moment of it. It was a beautiful reminder that great ideas don’t just happen at your desk or around a meeting table — they can spark anywhere.

4. Nineteen award-winning projects is an incredible milestone — which award win felt the most satisfying or surprising?

I wouldn’t say any of the awards were surprising — we always put our best into every project, and we aim for work that deserves recognition. But if I had to choose, I’d go with the first award I was apart of: the 2017 Silver Davey Award for JNTO’s Master of the Emoji campaign in the Online Advertising & Marketing category. With that project, the challenge was finding the right balance between entertaining our audience and educating them about Japan. It’s easy to be entertaining — but doing it in a meaningful, strategic way is what makes it truly effective. That campaign struck that balance perfectly.

As for the most satisfying? Definitely the two Webby Awards for the Plant Life Balance app. I’d been working on that project since day one, and it’s really close to my heart — partly because I’m a green thumb and love plants, but also because I genuinely believe plants have so much more to offer than just aesthetics. That campaign helped educate people about the health and wellbeing benefits of having more plants in their lives, and we combined that message with some incredible augmented reality tech. It took over a year from concept to delivery, so winning two Webbys for it was an amazing moment — and a testament to the incredible team and partners behind it.

5. What’s something Circul8 has taught you that you’ll carry with you forever?

The power of community! At Circul8, I learned that who you work with is just as important as what you work on.

6. Out of all the places Circul8 has taken you — Vanuatu, Tahiti, Singapore, Whitsundays and beyond — which trip holds the best memory for you?

Oh, this is a tough one! Every trip has something special, but if I had to choose, I’d say the first one — Vanuatu in January 2016 — stands out the most. It was during that trip that I really bonded with Alana and the team, not just as colleagues but as people. It gave me the space to have more genuine conversations, to show not just what I could do, but who I was — professionally and personally. It felt like the first time I could truly bring my whole self to the table, and that made a lasting impact on me.

And of course, I can’t go without mentioning Tahiti. Tahiti has a special place in my heart — I first visited when I was 8 years old, as my aunt lived there for a decade. Returning in 2019 for work, after we won the account, was incredibly emotional. I had the chance to work on the pitch with Alana and the team, and being chosen to travel to the islands meant so much. I’d only just come back from maternity leave, and that opportunity really showed the level of support I’ve received at Circul8. It’s not something you can take for granted — not every company recognises that becoming a parent doesn’t mean you’re any less committed. But, Circul8 did, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

7. After thousands of briefs and hundreds of projects, what’s your go-to ritual or habit when kicking off a big new campaign?

Interestingly, I don’t really have one — sorry to disappoint, but there’s no secret ritual or habit! I’ve always believed that we must evolve with the times, especially as technology and platforms keep changing. I try not to approach new briefs with old solutions. Of course, we can learn from past work and reflect on what could be done better, but each project deserves a fresh perspective.
That said, there is one tradition I love: popping open a bottle of champagne in the office — no matter what time of day — whenever we win a pitch. That never gets old!

8. From offices to remote working, how has your way of collaborating with clients and teams evolved?

When COVID hit and we all had to leave the office, I really thought we’d lose that buzz that comes from being in the same room — the quick chats, the spontaneous ideas, the energy. But honestly, I was surprised by how adaptable we were. I remember running a major campaign kickoff completely remotely — lots of stakeholders, big brainstorms, tight deadlines — and we made it work. We turned Miro boards and Zoom calls into proper workshops, found new ways to keep things collaborative, and built little rituals to make sure everyone felt included, no matter where they were.
Hybrid work has definitely made collaboration more intentional. We’ve had to listen more, be clearer in how we communicate, and create a rhythm that supports both flexibility and focus — for the team and for our clients.

9. You’ve spent over 25% of your life at Circul8 — what’s one thing that’s changed the most since you first walked through the door?

You mean, besides the physical C8 office itself? (We moved about a year and a half ago — and yes, that was a big change!)

Honestly, it’s us — Circul8. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the C8 I joined back then, but I love who we’ve become even more. The challenges we’ve faced together over the last 10 years have taught me a lot about resilience and bravery.

For the biggest “thing” that’s changed… it’s probably me. (And maybe my English skills, too!)

10. And finally… what’s one word you’d use to sum up your decade at Circul8?

Merci.
Let’s add a little French flair to wrap things up! “Merci” might be a small word, but for me, it holds so much. It’s gratitude for the opportunities, the challenges, the wild ideas, and the brilliant minds I’ve been lucky to work with. It’s thanks for the trust, the support, and the space to grow — not just professionally, but personally too. After ten years, I still feel energised by the work we do and the people I get to do it with. So yes, merci — for the memories, the magic, and the many more moments to come.
